In the third phase of Lok Sabha elections 2024, 1351 candidates will contest elections in 12 states/UTs
2963 nominations filed for 95 constituencies of 12 states/UTs for the third phase
In the third phase of Lok Sabha elections 2024, 1351 candidates from 12 states/UTs will contest elections. This includes 8 candidates contesting for postponed elections in Madhya Pradesh’s 29-betrooms (Safe for the Scheduled Tribes) parliamentary constituency. Additionally, a candidate from Surat Parliamentary constituency in Gujarat has been elected unopposed. The last date for withdrawal of names for all 12 states/Union territories was April 22, 2024.
A total of 2963 nominations were filed for 95 parliamentary constituencies (including 29-batterol) in 12 states/UTs for the third phase of Lok Sabha elections 2024. The last date for filing nomination for all 12 states/Union territories was 19 April 2024. 1563 nominations were found valid after checking all enrollments filed.
In the third phase, a maximum of 658 nominations were filed from 26 parliamentary areas in Gujarat followed by 519 nominations from 11 parliamentary areas in Maharashtra. Maharashtra received a maximum of 77 nominations in the 40-Usmanabad parliamentary constituency, followed by 68 nominations in the 5-Bilaspur parliamentary constituency in Chhattisgarh.

In the first of its kind, for which the Commission is not obliged in any way, taking transparency according to its promises, the Election Commission has decided to make it public with details of some functions, during the first month of implementation of the Ideal Code of Conduct (MCC), so that the misconceptions and convulsions of some people from time to time can be overtaken and prevented them.

The has taken a strict stance in terms of dignity and honour of women, especially by releasing notice to leaders of the parties who make insulting and offensive commenting against women. The Commission went one step forward to decide accountability on party heads/h conditions associated with political individuals who were subject to active ideas and orders of the Courts depending on criminal investigation. Although the Commission is fully committed to protecting the right to equal opportunities and promotion for political parties and candidates, it has not been able to take any steps that could overlap or override the legal judicial process.India General Elections 2024
In implementing the Ideal Code, the Commission has been directed to its mandatory responsibility, legal immovable property, institutional understanding, equality and transparency whether the dehydration and influence of the respective persons be anything or their political affiliation.
The Ideal Code came into force on March 16, 2024 with the announcement of the Lok Sabha elections. Since then, the Election Commission has taken quick and stunning action to ensure that there is no disturbance in equal opportunity and that discussion in promotion does not fall to unacceptable levels.
During a one-month period, 16 delegates from 07 political parties met the Commission to lodge their complaints on the alleged violation of the Model Code of Conduct and related matters. Many delegations were met at the level of Chief Electoral Officer in the states

All political parties have been treated the same way, even at minor information everyone was given time and their complaints were heard patiently.
The Commission, led by CEC Shri Rajiv Kumar monitors the countrywide pending cases of alleged violation of MCC with EC Shri Gyanesh Kumar and Shri Sukhbir Singh Sandhu every day at 12 pm onwards.India General Elections 2024
Prior to the announcement of elections, all
DM/Collector/DEO and SP were made particularly aware by the Commission for implementing model code without any agreement. CEC Shri Rajiv Kumar personally trained more than 800 DM/DEO in 10 batches in ECI Training Institute, IIIDEM in Delhi. Some of the ECI’s decisions to maintain the same opportunity during the last one month period of the model code are as follows:
Around 200 complaints have been filed by various political parties and candidates at the level of ECI and states. Of these, 169f non-cadder officers posted in four states as District Magistrate (DM) and Superintendent of Police (SP) in Gujarat, Punjab, Odisha and West Bengal.
